The CACWC does not want any child victims and their families to ever feel they are alone as they navigate through a very difficult time. Victim support and advocacy are available throughout the investigation and prosecution of cases. Information regarding the rights of a crime victim and local services is routinely available to all families.
An investigation of child abuse and possible legal proceedings are often stressful for children and their families. Our goal is to limit the secondary trauma during this process. A victim witness coordinator will provide guidance and support throughout the court proceedings, crisis intervention, and education. In addition, CAC staff will do follow-up to ensure a child and their family are getting the support and resources they need.
